2 hours 20 minutes
Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes
I just can’t stop thinking about that marvelous movie, “The Place Beyond the Pines”. The less you know about this twist of fate thriller, the more you’ll find the surprises to be spellbinding.
It all starts with motorcycle freak Ryan Gosling going to extremes to provide for his Infant son’s future.
Gosling’s unfortunate choices set in motion a gripping set of circumstances, where his life and that of his child’s mother, Eva Mendes, intersect with an ambitious cop played by Bradley Cooper, who is searching for some stolen money.
The fascinating twists and turns give the film an epic quality, all two hours and twenty minute’s worth. Where the illusion of a tangled plot quickly crystallize into moments of extremely powerful drama.
I know, I’m still skirting around the edges revealing as little as possible about the multi-layered build-up to the absolutely shattering conclusion.
Let’s just say “The Place Beyond The Pines” takes you where you never expected to go. You might have guessed by now “The Place Beyond The Pines” goes all the way to a glittering four stars.
It’s an unforgettable film that never stops working on your emotions. And I just can’t stop thinking about this film. What else can I say?
