“Super” TuesdayMarch 6th, 2012 at 1:44 pm by Elysia Rodriguez under Politics
It’s Super Tuesday! Voters in ten states are heading to the polls with more than 400 delegates at stake. It’s a big deal for the Republican candidates and it’s a big deal for battleground state Ohio, but in Massachusetts, well, not so much.
Hoping to get the pulse of Western Massachusetts voters I headed to what is typically the busiest polling site in Springfield. I spent more than an hour at the Frederick Harris School and by noon both polling places at the school had about 60 votes each.
Although Democrats essentially have one choice (President Obama), Republicans have several and in this heavily Democratic state, Independents are using their ability to choose a party this primary wisely. Overall, not much excitement in Western Massachusetts.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is expected to be the only candidate campaigning in Massachusetts, 22News will be at his headquarters in Boston before and after the polls close.
