I-Team Blog: Crestview Country Club follow-up
The 22News I-Team is working for you with a follow-up on last week’s I-Team report about Crestview Country Club in Agawam. The story about the potential sale of the country club generated a lot of buzz, and drew a lot of attention, especially from people who have upcoming events scheduled there.
Yesterday we received an anonymous tip that stockholders have approved the sale to a potential buyer, and I immediately called Woodlawn Realty Corp. board member Steven Roberts to confirm this. Roberts told me that quote “the sale of Crestview to a new buyer within the next 45 days looks positive.”
We tracked down the potential buyer for more details, and he agreed to speak to us on condition of anonymity. He told us that he does not want to be named until the sale is finalized, which is expected to happen by the end of March.
He did tell us that’s he’s from the area, and that he is representing an investment group. He also confirmed that he has made an offer to buy Crestview Country club, and that offer has been approved by the stockholders of Woodlawn realty group.
He said that if the sale goes through, he fully intends to keep the country club as a golf course. He also said that he plans to have discussions with the people who have pre-booked upcoming events, and will try to honor them.
The 22News I-Team will keep following this story. If there’s anything you want us to investigate, e-mail iteam@wwlp.com.
I hope they keep it as a golf course to earn funds for maintenance.
